Growing up in Idaho, potatoes are a basic necessity to me. I LOVE Potatoes, and I especially love homemade oven fries. Sometimes it is hard to get them just perfectly crisp, however, but this person got the recipe down to a science! It is perfect and needs no changes… unless you want to experiment with the spices… Taco Seasoning, Ranch Seasoning, Italian Seasoning… they would all be yummy!
4 medium or large potatoes
3 TBS oil
1 tsp Salt
1/2 Black Pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
Preheat the oven to 450 F.
Wash any dirt from the potatoes and cut into sticks or wedges. Try to keep them similar in size to help in the cooking. Rinse the fries under cold water, to wash off excess starches. Pat dry the fries.
Spread the fries on a baking sheet and pour oil over top. Add all the spices and stir (This can be done in a gallon zip lock bag as well, before putting on the baking sheet, to help with the mixing).
Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the cooking time. Serve hot with your favorite condiment.
