Homemade Hot Sauce

When I was in high school I went to Mexico to help build and orphanage. While we were there one of the Hispanic ladies made us a delicious traditional meal. With the meal she served us a homemade hot sauce, which she so graciously taught us how to make. The recipe is as follows:


3 large tomatoes
3-4 peppers of your choice (i.e. Jalapeno, Anaheim, Serrano, Arbol, etc.)
1-2 cloves garlic (or 1/2 TBS garlic powder)
2 TBS olive oil


Broil or grill tomatoes and peppers on both sides until they are well cooked and beginning to blacken in some spots.
 I used Anaheim peppers and left the seed, but depending on your pepper, you may want to take the seeds out before grilling. 
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend while hot. Serve on anything you desire, to give it a lot of flavor and a little kick…. or a lot of kick. :)
