Paper Bag Popcorn

Is it time for Friday Movie Night yet? Well here is the perfect popcorn solution for you!

We eat lots of popcorn at our house. It is crunchy, salty or sweet and has lots of fiber! But I don’t think that regular microwave popcorn is too healthy, with whatever that butter sauce is that the companies put on it… There was even some big law suit about a guy who had lung problems because he ate too much microwave popcorn with diacetyl and bla bla bla. But no worries! You can make your own popcorn. You don’t even need an air popper, I don’t have one either! 


1/3 cup popcorn kernels
2 TBS butter, melted
1/4 tsp salt
1 brown paper bag


In a bowl, pour the melted butter over the popcorn kernels. Stir until coated and then put the popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag. Roll the top 3 times, to close, making sure that each fold is well-creased. Microwave on high for 2 1/2 minutes to 3 minutes, or until the popping slows to 2 seconds between pops. Remove from the microwave and pour into a large bowl. Toss with salt and serve.
